DUNCAN MILLER FEATURED

Our buddy Duncan was featured in a very nice article in the Solano Seniors Magazine.  I would love to copy it and feature it in it's total copy here but I think the author, Nan Mahon, might just get Pi...st.  At any rate, the article was short but wonderfully done.  Go to, http://www.seniormagonline.com/2010/02/duncan-miller-keeper-aviation-history/ for the complete article.  Congratulations Duncan!

AIRPORT MASTER PLAN ACTION BEGINS

We are finally getting the Master Plan up and moving.  I will devote an article on the process in a day or two..2-6-2010 Editor

WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR AN FBO
AT SBC.....BUT THERE IS NEW

Good news from Michael Golden pertinent to the FBO:  Michael says:  “We are pleased to inform you that on Friday November 13 the Solano County Building Department issued a building permit for our construction to commence at Nut Tree Airport .  Construction on our new facility has commenced, and we anticipate being open for business in approximately six (6) weeks.  We look forward to serving you at Nut Tree Airport .  Regards,  Michael Golden.”

UPDADE;  2-6-2010   Well, six weeks might have been optimistic.  To date we are still waiting for the opening of the FBO.  Until then, our Flight School owner, Juan Carlos, has made most of the items pilots require, available at his office.  Drop by and give them some business.

WE HAVE A FLIGHT SCHOOL!

VCB has got a flight school business on campus and flights are welcomed by Juan Carlos Cantavella, Chief Flight Instructor for Wings Flight School.  Mr. Cantavella attended the August SPA meeting and unveiled the plans he has been busy putting into action.    The flight School is  a seperate venture from the F.B.O..  It occupies space in the county building and will operate off of the flight line in front of the building.  We are all encouraged by this news.  WELCOME JUAN CARLOS CANTAVELLA AND WINGS!!!!

NTAAC MAKING EFFORT CONCERNING GRAND JURY REPORT

The Nut Tree Airport Advisory Committee recently voted to have the airport staff cut their turn around for minutes by 1/3rd.  The minutes will be produced in draft form and be released within 30 days for public viewing and also Board of Supervisor advisement.  We are trying to bring our actions into compliance with the findings of the Grand Jury Report.

SOLANO PILOTS MEMBERSHIP GROWTH NECESSARY

We have found our membership weakening during the past 6 months. IIf you are a pilot in Solano County, a user of the counties airports or have an airplane stored at the Nut Tree Airport, YOU SHOULD JOIN....SEE LEFT SIDE BAR TO JOIN..

Nut Tree Airport is the home of Solano Pilot's Association

Welcome to the Solano Pilots Association's official website.  Our goal is to provide support and be a voice for pilots in the Northern California region.  Our base airport is Nut Tree airport (VCB) but serve all pilots of Solano County.  If you are wanting to express your views considering  local G.A. issues, have regular safety meetings,  get in touch with other pilots, share your enthusiasm for flight with them, plan fly-outs and have more fun flying, come join us.

 Good Flying
