YOUNG EAGLES - A program that introduces young people aged 8 through 17 to
aviation. Experimental Aircraft Association pilots fly at the Nut Tree
Airport each third Saturday or on other days when announced. The flights
usually take about 20-30 minutes and are free of charge. Passengers are
urged to arrive early as we fly on a first come first served basis. All
passengers must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian to complete
application forms and releases. Young Eagles 2008 Rallies are Fun for All Our Young Eagles Rallies during 2008 have been wonderful days for about 300 young people. The days begin with a pilot briefing at 7:30am at the Nut Tree County Conference Room. The weather is usually good and we arrive to find at least 15 to 20 youngsters excited about the prospects of flying. Jerry Gordon and Howard Gunn are always present with 7 or 8 of the other Tuskegee Airmen volunteers, who always keep the system running smoooothly. Several EAA 1230 members are also on hand to take photographs and print pictures for each pilot. Safety and ground control are important tasks that the EAA1230 members attend to. Duncan Miller and his gang (Martha & Tim) help each Saturday with the hospitality hanger. There you will find donuts, hot cofffee and hot chocolate , cookies and a tour of the Nut Tree Airport's own "Aircraft Museum". Come out and have some fun at your local Nut Tree Airport.
